JX Advanced Metals Corporation (President: Hayashi Yoichi; hereinafter "the Company") announces that in January 2026 it conducted a trial shipment using freight rail transportation for semiconductor sputtering targets produced at its Isohara Plant in Ibaraki Prefecture and transported to the Kyushu region. In this trial, rail transportation was utilized for the section between Hitachi Station (Ibaraki Prefecture) and a freight terminal station located in Kyushu.

　

The Company is promoting the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and actively advancing a modal shift to rail freight as part of its efforts to reduce Scope 3 emissions arising from logistics and to establish a more sustainable logistics system. Based on the benefits confirmed through this trial, the Company plans to commence full-scale use of freight rail transportation for this route starting in March 2026. By combining rail transportation with the conventional truck-based line-haul services previously in use and shifting a portion of shipments to rail, the Company aims to reduce GHG emissions while also addressing the shortage of truck drivers.

　

Under its Long-Term Vision for 2040, the Company has identified "Contribution to Global Environmental Conservation" as one of its material issues. In addition to promoting reductions in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions, it is working to reduce CO₂ emissions across the entire supply chain, including Scope 3 emissions. Going forward, the Company will continue to reduce environmental impacts across all its business activities, including logistics, and contribute to the realization of a low-carbon society.
