JX Advanced Metals Corporation

Opening Ceremony for the New Hitachinaka Factory

JX Advanced Metals Corporation (President: Hayashi Yoichi; hereinafter "the Company") held an opening ceremony on March 26 to mark the commencement of operations at its new factory in Hitachinaka City, Ibaraki Prefecture. The ceremony took place at the new factory as well as at a hotel in Hitachinaka.

Since acquiring a large-scale site in Hitachinaka in March 2022, the Company has been proceeding with the construction of a new factory, positioning it as a new core base for advanced materials, particularly in the semiconductor field. In July 2025, operations of a recycling logistics center at the site commenced ahead of schedule. With part of the production facilities for semiconductor sputtering targets now having entered trial operation, the Company has reached this milestone of formally opening the new factory. This site represents the Company's third major base in Ibaraki Prefecture, following the Hitachi and Isohara areas, and marks the first establishment of a new core domestic manufacturing base in approximately 40 years since the opening of the Isohara Works in 1985.

The ceremony was attended by approximately 160 guests, including Kazuhiko Oigawa, Governor of Ibaraki Prefecture, Akira Otani, Mayor of Hitachinaka City, as well as many representatives from the local community and the construction industry. During the ceremony, President Hayashi delivered opening remarks, stating:"In launching this new factory, we have received tremendous understanding and support from Ibaraki Prefecture, Hitachinaka City, and other related organizations, from our partners who were involved in the construction and engineering work, and from local communities and business partners who continuously support our business activities. I would like to express my sincere gratitude once again. This new factory is not only an important base that will contribute significantly to the growth of our business, but also one that aims to play a vital role in strengthening the industrial foundation of this region. Going forward, we view it as our important mission to continue coexisting with the local community and to contribute to sustainable regional development through job creation, human resource development, and collaboration with related industries." Congratulatory addresses were subsequently delivered by Governor Oigawa and Mayor Otani.

Demand for advanced logic semiconductors and advanced memory semiconductors (such as HBM) used in AI data centers is currently expanding rapidly, and medium- to long-term growth is expected to continue. At the new factory, the Company plans not only to establish a supply system that can flexibly respond to future growth in demand for semiconductor sputtering targets, but also to strengthen its presence in the global advanced semiconductor supply chain through the promotion of research and development and the creation of new businesses. In addition, Hitachinaka is located in close proximity to both the Hitachi and Isohara areas and offers convenient access to the Company's headquarters, enabling integrated operation with these sites. By taking a broader view of business operations across the northern and central regions of Ibaraki Prefecture without being constrained by individual site locations, the Company will further strengthen collaboration among its bases.

By advancing initiatives aimed at transforming the Company into a "technology driven enterprise," as set forth in the JX Advanced Metals Group Long Term Vision 2040, we will continue striving to become a global company that contributes to social development and innovation through advanced materials.
