Pursuing Digital Transformation (DX)

JX Advanced Metals is committed to building a robust earnings foundation and generating new value to achieve our medium- and long-term business objectives. We will drive transformation through unified, company-wide initiatives. As advanced technologies such as AI and digital twins evolve rapidly and our business environment undergoes significant changes—including our IPO—we will proactively advance company-wide digital transformation to further enhance corporate value. By leveraging digital tools, we will identify improvement opportunities across the value chain, develop actionable plans, strengthen our business through revenue and cost optimization, enhance productivity and workstyles, and maximize human resource utilization by standardizing and streamlining processes.

Strengthening Our Digital Transformation Framework

Achieving true transformation to further enhance corporate value requires a company-wide review of operations from a management perspective, stronger cross-divisional collaboration, and efforts to reinforce overall business while standardizing and streamlining processes. With this understanding, we have transferred responsibility for driving DX to the Planning & Coordination Department starting in fiscal 2025. This department now leads company-wide strategy development, execution facilitation, and talent development. The Technology Group, which previously spearheaded DX, now leverages its technical expertise to support the transformation and strengthening of each business unit through specialized technical and implementation assistance. This shift has evolved our DX framework into one that tightly integrates strategy and execution, enabling us to drive transformation more powerfully across the entire organization.

Foundation for Driving DX

Using simulation technology, AI, and ultrasonic sensing technology, etc., we are continuously working to verify the latest technologies and consider their applicability to our operations.

Case 1

  Materials Informatics Using Materials Simulation

By integrating experimental data, AI, and material simulations, materials with desired properties can be efficiently identified without the need for repeated experiments, as was the case in the past.

Case 2

Demonstration Test for Predictive Detection of Equipment Anomalies Using Ultrasonic Sensing Technology

Using ultrasonic microphones and edge terminals, sounds outside the audible range are processed using AI technology to detect equipment abnormalities at an early stage, reducing their impact on equipment and quality and improving productivity.

Strengthening DX Infrastructure (Zero Trust Network)

To protect our critical information assets from increasingly sophisticated and advanced cyber threats, the Group is upgrading our group network based on the concept of zero trust. By utilizing state-of-the-art cloud-based security services and implementing two-factor authentication and device authentication, we are uniformly raising the security level across the entire Group and responding to security measure requests from business partners as part of the supply chain.

Developing DX Human Resources

JX Advanced Metals works to rebuild our DX talent development framework as part of our renewed DX framework. We strive to raise DX literacy across all companies by offering e-learning for all employees and transitioning to more hands-on programs. We launched the Office DX Program in fiscal 2024 to foster our ability to drive operational improvements independently by using low-code and no-code platforms, among other digital tools. Our aim is to have all new employees complete this program in fiscal 2025 and take on DX-related roles in their assigned departments. We are also preparing a practical program for employees who lead DX to enhance business resilience. This program will teach a structured approach from identifying issues to planning and agile execution, and is planned to be rolled out in stages. These initiatives accelerate the development of talent who support corporate value enhancement and foster a company-wide culture that integrates digital technology.
