Health Management Initiatives

The JX Advanced Metals Group is engaged in health management, which we will describe herein.

JX Advanced Metals Group Health Declaration (Philosophy and Health Management)

The JX Advanced Metals Group believes that the health of our employees and their families is essential to achieving our Purpose. It is the health of our employees and their families that forms the very foundation allowing us to pursue our Purpose with passion: Creating Value for a Brighter Future.

In addition, the Company pursues four principles, known collectively as Our Way: (1) Courageous Spirit, (2) Purposeful Collaboration, (3) Mutual Respect, and (4) Flourishing Together.
Having a courageous spirit and engaging in purposeful collaboration would be difficult without the mental and physical health to actively enjoy one's endeavors.
Physical health does not refer simply to the absence of illness, but also to comfortable work environments and the necessary support in alignment with the characteristics and circumstances of each individual. At the same time, mutual respect and flourishing together would not be possible without safe and comfortable work environments. Safe and comfortable applies not only to our manufacturing sites, but also in terms of psychological safety. This ideal applies to all stakeholders, including employees and their families, local communities, and suppliers.

We continue to devote our best efforts to maintaining and managing the health of our employees, and we continue to improve our approach, including approaches to work-style reform.

Health Management Promotion System

The JX Advanced Metals Group established the Health Management Project to advance health management initiatives. This project is a cross-company endeavor headed by our president and representative director. Project members include members appointed from health consultation offices, health management departments, and related departments at each business location, including the head office. Of course, the Human Resources Department plays a central role in this project. In pursuing health management, the company-wide Health Management Committee holds discussions and determines policies and measures that contribute to employee health (certain matters are also discussed within the Human Resource Council, a decision-making body equivalent to the Board of Directors).
To encourage employee health, we hold health seminars conducted by industrial physicians and outside lecturers. The lectures are based on data provided by the health insurance association and the Company's employee data.

We are promoting a variety of measures to improve the mental and physical health of our employees through a project system in which all of our operating sites participate. In fiscal 2023, the Isohara Works, Hitachi Works, and Kurami Works assigned public health nurses and established health consultation offices. These efforts enabled the sites to utilize the health management support system more effectively, enabling centralized management of various health checkup results and working hour records, and enabled significant progress in the development of industrial health systems.

Using the aforementioned system, we conducted physical fitness tests to determine current muscle strength, flexibility, sense of balance, etc. We also implemented self-care follow-up training for new employees as a mental health measure and improved workplaces based on the results of stress check group analysis. As a new initiative to reduce BMI, we also held a VegeCheck® event to encourage participants to measure their own vegetable intake. A large number of employees participated in the event, through which we raised awareness of the need to improve dietary habits by providing participants with vegetables harvested at Uchihara Farms and offering vegetable juice tastings.
