Ceremony Celebrating the Newly Born H.C. Starck Tantalum and Niobium GmbH

JX Nippon Mining & Metals Corporation (President: Shigeru Oi; “JXNMM”) and H.C. Starck Tantalum and Niobium GmbH (“HCS TaNb”) hosted a celebratory ceremony on October 1 at the Kaiserpfalz Goslar (Imperial Palace), Niedersachsen, Germany, where HCS TaNb has its main manufacturing site. The ceremony was held to celebrate the addition of HCS TaNb as a member of the JX Nippon Mining & Metals Group, following acquisition of all outstanding shares of HCS TaNb by JXNMM through a Group company on July 1 of this year.

In attendance were approximately 160 guests, including Takeshi Yagi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Berend Lindner, State Secretary of Niedersachsen of Economic Affairs, Labor, Transport and Digitalisation, local officials, business partners and other interested parties. President Oi in his remarks at the event noted that “The JX Nippon Mining & Metals Group, now including HCS TaNb, has the technologies and expertise essential for manufacturing and developing various metal materials supporting performance advances in semiconductors and other electronic parts, as further remarkable advances are expected in both the speed and volume of information processing. These materials are indispensable also to progress in the IoT and AI society, a premise for meeting society’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As we go forward hand-in-hand with HCS TaNb, the entire Group is committed to working together to help bring about a sustainable society.”

The JX Nippon Mining & Metals Group, drawing on the synergies of each of the Group companies including HCS TaNb, by supplying society with the necessary materials and technologies, will do our part toward ensuring the sustainable advancement of society.
