Isohara Works Earns Platinum Status in RBA Assessment

JX Nippon Mining & Metals Corporation's Isohara Works earned the full 200 points available under the Validated Assessment Program's (VAP) audit process that assesses compliance with the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) Code of Conduct, earning the highest platinum status under the RBA program. The assessment is valid until April 28, 2023.

The RBA is an industry organization chiefly comprised of companies such as electronics manufacturers and their electronic components suppliers. Many of JX Nippon Mining and Metals Corporation's customers in the advanced materials field are RBA members, dedicated to improving social, environmental, and ethical conditions in their global supply chains.

The JX Nippon Mining and Metals Group is enhancing its ESG efforts by conducting activities aligned to codes of conduct determined by various initiatives throughout its businesses covering mineral resources, metal smelting and refining, recycling, and advanced materials. As part of these efforts, it is continually raising the standards of its labor, health and safety, environmental, ethical, and management systems in the advanced materials field with the RBA Code of Conduct.

Carried out by an RBA-approved audit firm, the VAP assessment evaluates the establishment of management systems and compliance with standards. Our operating sites in the advanced materials fields recently underwent VAP assessment to gain an objective evaluation of their activities to date. As a result, the Isohara Works earned platinum status, demonstrating its commitment to meeting customer demands for compliance with the RBA Code of Conduct.

The JX Nippon Mining and Metals Group will share the experiences of the Isohara Works in demonstrating such high commitment with other Group businesses and enhance its overall ESG efforts. By doing so, it aims to achieve stable supply of advanced materials underpinned by supply chain transparency right from the raw materials stage. Through such efforts, the Group will contribute to creating sustainable societies across the entire global supply chain.
