JX Advanced Metals Corporation
JX Metals Philippines, Inc. Obtains ISO 50001 Certification
JX Metals Philippines, Inc. (President: Kohiki Michiya, hereinafter "JXPH"), a subsidiary of JX Advanced Metals Corporation (President: Hayashi Yoichi, hereinafter "the Company"), has obtained certification for ISO 50001 (standard for energy management systems).
ISO 50001 is one of the management system standards established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), providing a systematic framework for appropriate energy management and continuous improvement in energy use.
In the Philippines, the government promotes the implementation of energy management systems (EnMS) aligned with ISO 50001 and similar standards, aiming to optimize domestic energy resources and ensure sustainability. In response to this national direction, JXPH has proactively introduced a management system based on ISO 50001. Through regular monitoring, evaluation, and implementation of improvement measures, JXPH is working to enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
Globally, the number of companies certified under ISO 50001 remains relatively small compared to other major ISO standards such as ISO 14001, and the certification is not yet widely adopted. In this context, JXPH's acquisition of ISO 50001 represents a forward-thinking initiative that positions the Company ahead of its peers and demonstrates the Company group's proactive commitment to building a sustainable society.
The Company group has set decarbonization targets of reducing total emissions by 50% by fiscal year 2030 and achieving net zero by fiscal year 2050. We recognize that energy-saving initiatives are essential to achieving these goals. JXPH's acquisition of ISO 50001 certification not only establishes a framework for continuous energy-saving activities but also contributes to advancing efforts toward the Company's decarbonization targets.
