JX Advanced Metals Corporation (President: Yoichi Hayashi, hereinafter "JX") has been honored with the Development Division Award at the 2025 Supplier Award Ceremony hosted by Resonac Hard Disk Corporation (President: Yasushi Makabe, hereinafter "Resonac Hard Disk"). This award is presented to suppliers who have played a critical role in the company's development activities.

　

Resonac Hard Disk is the world's only external supplier of hard disk (hereinafter "HD") media and possesses cutting-edge technological capabilities. In recent years, the rapid adoption of generative AI has led to an explosive increase in data generation, driving strong demand for large-capacity storage in data centers. Low-cost, high-capacity HDs have become indispensable. Resonac Hard Disk has been at the forefront of developing SMR (Shingled Magnetic Recording) technology, which enables large capacity, high efficiency, and low power consumption, as well as HAMR (Heat-Assisted Magnetic Recording), a next-generation recording technology that achieves even greater capacity. The company has established a robust supply system for these advanced products, securing a solid position in the global HD market.

　

Our sputtering targets for magnetic devices are essential for forming the recording layer of HD media. This award recognizes JX's significant contribution to Resonac Hard Disk and Resonac HD Singapore Pte. Ltd.'s Development Division by proposing new cobalt-platinum alloy materials for PMR recording layers, which have improved recording density and facilitated customer certification for Resonac Hard Disk. As a global supplier of sputtering targets for magnetic devices, JX has continuously supported the growth of the HD industry by providing advanced materials to leading customers.
